II. During the reign of Lajos, the deterioration of money intensified. Under the name Moneta Nova, the king issued new money, the silver content of which was greatly reduced below face value in order to increase minting profits. However, the reform did not bring the desired result, the old and new money did not circulate at the same value, the value of the old money rose continuously. Finally, in 1525, Moneta Nova was withdrawn from circulation.
