Description: The first Hungarian crown 1892-1925 After lengthy preparatory work, the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy switched to gold-based money, the crown, in 1892. Before the turn of the century, this money became one of the strongest currencies in Europe. The "happy times of peace" were finally brought to an end by the First World War: after 1914, the koruna began to lose value compared to foreign currencies, and it was no longer able to recover its value.
In the "Value" column, we show the highest sell-out or sale price registered on our site since 2018, without taking into account the sell-out date or other special product characteristics (e.g. condition, defects, occasional revisions, etc.). Since the value is mostly determined by the current market trends, the displayed values can only be interpreted as a benchmark and not as the current market price.
