Description: | István Bocskai 10 ducats 1605 reprint In 1605, the anti-Habsburg freedom struggle led by István Bocskai had already been raging for a year. Encouraged by the successes of the battles, in 1605 Bocskai was elected prince of Transylvania and then of the whole of Hungary. The front of the heavy gold coin shows the figure of the prince in armor. On the reverse side, the coat of arms motif of an armored arm holding a sword reads: With God for the country and freedom. |
