Description: | Aranyérem Eszterházy Imre 1738 commemoration of the priest's ordination The clergyman from a noble family was ordained a priest in 1688, and after 37 years of service he was appointed archbishop and primate of Esztergom. He was a great patron of the arts, in 1741 he crowned Mária Theresia, who ascended the throne, in Bratislava. The gold medal was made for a noble occasion, the 50th anniversary of the archbishop's ordination to the priesthood. The estimated value of the rare veret is more than HUF 620,000! |
