Description: Hungarian gold giants Lipót I 10 ducats, 1666, replica The especially heavy gold medal made using the base of the imperial thaler is extremely rare. Due to its weight, the coin was never a circulating currency, rather it served as a gift to mark the favor of the ruler, possibly as a distinction. The pieces that have survived to this day are sought-after collector's items. A specimen that appeared at an auction in 2007 changed hands at a price of 44,000 euros, i.e. approximately 13 million forints!
