Description: | 6 gold ducats commemorative medal of St. Elizabeth minted around 1619 The extremely rare medal, currently estimated at more than HUF 1.3 million, was probably made in a private mint in Prague as part of a series that tried to imitate early medieval medals in appearance. On the obverse is the portrait of Saint Elizabeth of Árpád, who died in Magdeburg in 1231, and on the reverse is the base of the Magdeburg church named after her. |
