Description: | Ferdinand I 6 ducat commemorative coin minted 1557 At the request of the brother of the Hungarian King Ferdinand I, the Holy Roman Emperor Károly V, he helped settle the religious war raging between German Protestants and Catholics. He proclaimed religious peace with his Augsburg decree passed in 1555. The medal minted in 1557 shows the fall of Adam and Eve on the obverse, and the resurrected Christ on the reverse. With these symbols in our country as well, he gave the appreciation of the two denominations that they inherently have common roots, that they should live in peace with each other. |
