Description: The day after the official opening of the Hungarian Money Museum and Visitor Center, the Hungarian National Bank will issue a commemorative version of the 100 HUF circulation coin. With the coins, the central bank wants to draw attention to the importance of financial awareness and to the Money Museum as an authentic and comprehensible source of information. The special metal coins will be put into circulation in 2 million copies from today. The denomination side of the 100 HUF bicolor coins to be issued is the same as the denomination side of the circulation coin of the same denomination currently in circulation, but on the thematic side, the usual coat of arms is replaced by a new motif designed by Mónika Gyuró. On the obverse of the coin, in the middle field – extending into the ring below – there is a representation of the characteristic detail of the building that houses the Hungarian Monetary Museum and Visitor Center. Above it is a stylized image of a graph showing growth, as well as four different medals, the motifs of which – the lily of Anjou referring to medieval Hungarian gold forints, the iconic digit of the one-forint coin introduced in 1946, a globe, and the representation of a scale – are based on the themes presented by the Money Museum, and refer to the general characteristics of money. The inscriptions "HUNGARY" and "PÉNZMÚZEUM" as well as the year of minting "2022" can be read within the beaded border on the outer edge of the coin, separated from each other by a decorative dot. The image of the coin illustrates the development of the forint based on traditions and the revitalization of the economy, so in addition to increasing the awareness of the Money Museum, it also conveys the values represented by the MNB. In addition, the circulation coin commemorative version that is now being issued is a real specialty, since the 100 HUF bicolor circulation coins did not yet feature a motif extending from the outer ring to the inner core.
