Description: On the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the publication of the Golden Bull, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank "II. Under the name "András's Golden Bull", mini gold coins with a face value of HUF 10,000 and non-ferrous commemorative coins with a face value of HUF 5,000 - the same size as the original seal of the Golden Bull - are being issued today in Esztergom. The two commemorative coins are two independent issues with different coin images, however - as a curiosity among Hungarian commemorative coin issues - the gold commemorative coin can be affixed to the obverse side of the non-ferrous commemorative coin - as a hanging seal. The commemorative coins were designed by industrial artist Zoltán Endrődy. The Golden Bull is one of the best-known documents of Hungarian history, which got its name from its golden seal. In the spring of 1222 II. The certificate issued by the Hungarian King András is an outstanding monument of Hungary's legal history, a symbol of the Hungarian historical constitution. His real significance is not related to his own age, but to his afterlife. After King Louis the Great (1342-1382) confirmed and enshrined in law the text of the 1222 charter in 1351, it was considered the seat of Hungarian noble privileges for centuries. This is how it was included in István Werbőczy's authoritative work summarizing medieval Hungarian law, the Triple Book published in 1517. Through Werbőczy, until 1848, the Golden Bull became one of the cornerstones of the resistance to the Hungarian order, of Hungarian aspirations for independence. Today, on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the issuance of the Golden Bull, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank is issuing a HUF 10,000 nominal value mini-gold and a HUF 5,000 nominal non-ferrous commemorative coin of the same size as the Golden Bull's seal. The special feature of the commemorative coins is that the gold commemorative coin can be attached to the front side of the non-ferrous commemorative coin, to the pendant seal, but they can also be interpreted independently.
