Description: II. Nicholas is the last tsar of Russia. He was a ruler with a strange character and a tragic fate. His coronation in 1896 was also overshadowed by tragedy, the celebrating crowd trampled each other to death. His only son suffered from haemorrhage. His troops suffered a heavy defeat in the Russo-Japanese conflict in 1905. The decline of the tsarist system began with the revolution that broke out in 1905. The biggest blow to his country was his entry into World War I. The long war wore down the strength of the soldiers, deprivation, misery and lack of food turned public opinion against the tsar. The Tsar abdicated in 1917. The Bolsheviks executed him and his family in July 1918. II. In 1896, only 300 pieces of Miklós' coronation coin with a face value of 25 rubles, 2.5 imperials were minted.
