Description: By the 18th century, mining, especially the mines of Lower Hungary, had become extremely important for the empire. The mining towns ensured the supply of the army, i.e. the survival of the empire's military power! Therefore, when II. József was crowned German king in 1764, together with his younger brother, the later II. Together with Lipót, he went on a mine visit tour. This rare gold medal was issued on this occasion.
