Description: Hungarian gold giants commemorating the death of István Wesselényi 24 gold ducats minted in 1734 Baron István Wesselényi Hadadi served as the governor of Transylvania and the president of the parliament as a Habsburg nobleman. He spent the years of the Rákóczi War of Independence hiding from the Kurucs. His diary, which has survived intact, is one of the most valuable descriptions of Rákóczi's era and the freedom struggle. The value of the extraordinary gold medal made on the occasion of his death is more than HUF 7 million!
