Description: | Elizabeth, IV. The sister of our King Béla, she lived a penitent lifestyle. He established a shelter for orphaned children and then founded a hospital. Many miracles happened near his grave. They are mostly depicted with roses. According to the legend, despite the ban, he was taking bread to the poor, and when he was stopped, he replied that he was carrying roses. When he showed it, instead of loaves of bread, there were indeed roses in his basket. Elizabeth IX in 1235. He was canonized by Pope Gregory. |
