Andrew II of Jerusalem's reign

Andrew II of Jerusalem 's life

Andrew II (of Jerusalem) reigned in Hungary between 1205 and 1235.

Andrew was characterized by his ambition, which is why he constantly rebelled against the rule of his brother Imre. The period of his reign is still one of the most talked about periods in Hungarian history. He had an extremely strong foreign policy that extended all the way to the Balkans. His domestic policy was not weak either, as he created modern laws such as the publication of the Golden Bull of 1222, which remained in force until 1848.

He died in 1235. He was succeeded by his son, Béla IV.
