Béla II was king of Hungary between 1131 and 1141. He came to the throne after Stephen II. His father was Prince Álmos, and his mother was Predslavá II. She was the daughter of the Kiev grand prince Sviatopolk.

At first, it seemed unlikely that she would come to the throne, because her father, Álmos, had a quarrel withColoman, who eventually blinded his younger brother and Béla. This is why he later received the name "Béla the Blind". He finally gained power when Stephen II was left without a successor, so he was nominated as the heir. He was able to take the throne even after his cousin's death.

An interesting aspect of his life was that his physical disability because of this, he could not manage his daily duties as king, so his wife, the strong-handed Ilona, made him queen.

He died in 1141. He was succeeded by his son, Géza II.

II. (Blind) King Béla's coin stock was insignificant, as there were only versions of his denarii with insignificant differences. It is completely unknown how many of the anonymous denarii were minted by the ruler II. (Blind) Béla, who ruled for ten years. As a result, it is currently not possible to establish the order of the coins, the date of issue of the coins and the rhythm of coinage.
