Gaius Servilius Coinage

BC In 439, the last year of the decemvirs' rule, Rome faced a serious political and economic crisis. The plebeians rebelled against the tyrannical decemvirs, and the revolution brought the city to the brink of civil war. During this chaotic period, Gaius Servilius Ahala was one of the consuls. He played an important role in the fall of the decemvirs and in the restoration of the rights of the plebeians. Servilius Ahala BC. In 439 he minted denarius. The denarius was the most common silver coin of Rome in this period. On the obverse side of the coins is a portrait of Servilius Ahala, with the inscription: "C.SERVIL", on the reverse side, the Dioscuri (Castor and Pollux), the gods of riding and fighting, with the inscription: "ROMA". Weight: 4.5 grams, material: silver volt. The coinage of Servilius Ahala commemorates an important historical event.
