Description: | The reign of the Hungarian king Miksa I fell at the end of the 15th century, at the beginning of the Renaissance. During his time, the Hungarian silver denar was introduced, which was a small silver coin and served as a currency accepted throughout the Kingdom of Hungary. The coin issued by Miksa I bears the characteristics of 15th-century Hungarian minting. On one side of the coins, the coat of arms of the ruler was depicted, and on the other side, the Madonna and Child. The value of the currency issued by the king varied over time and depended on the economic conditions of the time. However, silver denarii were very important in contemporary Hungary and were used in many areas of financial life. |
