| Description: | On April 22, 2014, the MNB issued the silver and non-ferrous metal commemorative coin of Béni Egressy, with which it pays tribute to the memory of the composer, lyricist, and playwright born 200 years ago. Egressy became known by setting music to Mihály Vörösmarty's Szózat, from which a piece of music can be seen on the obverse of the coin. The reverse shows the composer's bust and signature. In addition to translations of plays and opera texts, the versatile talent also wrote epoch-making Hungarian operas, and was the lyricist of Ferenc Erkel's three most important operas: Mária Bátori, László Hunyadi and Bánk bán. Erkel, the creator of the Hungarian national opera, praised Egressy in his old age during a performance by a virtuoso pianist to the writer Géza Gárdonyi: "Egressy also played the piano like that.
