This series was issued in collaboration between the Royal Australian Mint and the Perth Mint to celebrate the XXVII. Sydney Olympic Games in Australia in 2000. This commemorative coin series consists of 28 pieces depicting all 28 sports from the 2000 Sydney Olympics. The coins are all dated 2000 but were issued between 1997 and 2000. Some were available individually and some were only available as a special full 28-coin album. Interestingly, some had Maklouf obverses and others had Rank-Broadly obverses.
