George III 's life

III. George was born in London in 1738 as the third British monarch of the House of Hanover. He was the first king whose mother tongue was English. In 1751, his father died unexpectedly. George was the number one heir to the throne, so he followed in his father's footsteps and received the title of Prince of Wales. In 1760, his predecessor, II. George died, making him King of Great Britain and Ireland. In 1761, he married Sarolta of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, with whom he had 15 children. At the end of his reign, the king already suffered from serious mental problems, he talked to himself for hours and his eyesight also deteriorated. His death in 1820. His reign lasted for 59 years. His sons, first György and then Vilmos, succeeded him on the throne.
