Yahya Muhammad Hamid was the King of Yemen from 1918 to 1948. He led the Zaidi sect as an imam and was a descendant of the Prophet's family. He is famous for his wise and just rule and his struggle against the Ottomans and the British. He brought about modernization and the unity of Yemen. He also minted silver coins called 'Amadi', which were circular in shape and dated 1344 AH in the 1926 Christian calendar. These are rare and valuable numismatic objects.
